Caludon Castle ruins

Farren Rd, Coventry CV2 5EJ, United Kingdom
What We Offer:
Caludon Castle Park is FREE to enter. It is located three miles to the east of Coventry city centre and it is the Area Park for the South of the city. Although smaller in size than other area parks, it offers a valued green space experience for local people. The site contains two scheduled ancient monuments by English Heritage, including the remains of Caludon Castle which is Grade 1 listed. The park is accessed by vehicles off Farren Road via the St George and the Dragon inspired entrance gates, along a causeway to the recently re-furbished public car park. The park is informally divided into zones including sport and play to the east and the historical features to the west and north. The Park is annually entered for a Green Flag Award. This is a nationally recognised award given to parks that, when externally assessed, meet or exceed some eight criteria set by the Awards Body. These criteria include how the park is managed, community involvement and sustainability.

Great place for anyone. Beautiful scenes all year round. Play park for kids, exercise equipment and also 2 large caged football/other activity areas. Carpark provided.

That’s a historic landmark with a record since Lady Godiva times, so many families owned the Castle in his history. It’s a quite important place in historic England, easy to get there, gate are open all day and night. That could be an attraction for spending romantic time in Coventry.

Great place for a walk, either by yourself or with your dog. It has a nice play area for children with slide, swings etc. Easy parking.

The Weaver's House

121 Upper Spon St, Coventry CV1 3BQ, United Kingdom
What We Offer:

The Weaver’s House provides a snapshot of life in medieval Coventry, where you can experience how John Croke, a narrow-loom weaver and his family would have lived and worked. The house has been restored to show how it looked in 1540, including a full size replica of a narrow-loom (please note access is via ladder). To the rear there is a garden showing plants that would have been grown for food, flavouring, medicine and household use. The house is only open on selected days throughout the spring and summer, or by prior arrangement. Admission is free on these Open Days, and refreshments are available. For pre-arranged visits at other times we ask for a suitable donation. We offer a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. We provide free parking and luggage storage. Whether this is your first visit, or you have been a guest many times, we want your experience to be excellent. Our staff is always available to help with any questions or concerns you may have.

Beautiful building with a long, varied history staffed by passionate and enthusiastic volunteers. Faithfully recreated gardens and furnished interiors which give a rare insight into the history of the working people of this region over a number of generations.
Excellent place, full of history. Highly recommended.
A wonderful visit. The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learnt so much. All the little details brilliantly brought the routine of the weaver, his household and his neighbours to life. Absolutely brilliant.

Coventry Cathedral Ruins

Priory St, Coventry CV1 5RN, United Kingdom
What We Offer:
The full team at Coventry Cathedral is made up of an exciting mix of clergy and clerical staff, maintenance staff and volunteers, a few of whom feature here. We share a commitment to the Cathedral, its community and purpose. Our vision is of a reconciled and reconciling Cathedral which is open and welcoming to all, which serves to glorify God in our worship, and reaches out to the world in our ministry of reconciliation. Our vision is also for a sufficiently robust resource base that we are able to be creative in our activity, confident that we have sufficient financial and human resources to deliver our vision without compromise. Our heritage and our future are rooted in the words of Jesus Christ, ‘Father forgive’, used by Provost Dick Howard on 15th November 1940 in the Cathedral ruins. Our calling is to be a people and place of reconciliation, one that marks us out in English cathedrals as having a unique role. It is this calling, embodied as it is in the architecture of the Cathedral, ruined and rebuilt, which provides the core rationale for our life and mission..

Beautifully well reserved ruins. I visited during Christmas time and an ice rink had been setup, it was so magical and pretty with the surrounding fairy lights and wintery theme. What an amazing venue to have access to as a city to put on some fantastic events.
Beautiful place to see. A symbol of reconciliation known all over the world, your thoughts are driven in many different angles thinking, what if, couldn’t imagine what it would like today a pure delight. Beautiful cathedral with great history.
Wow so much history and have learnt something new about the area. A beautiful new cathedral but also ruins that tells a story from plaques around the cathedral and from visiting the museum also. Really worth a visit.
